Field trips and Mid-Week Breaks

We usually have our monthly field trips or visits, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in rotation. Visitors or new members are welcome to join any of these. We also have a mid-week spring break of four to five days, usually led by a local professional geologist or occasionally by some of our own members. We have three or four full days of geology excursions with a free day in the middle of the itinerary. These annual holidays, as you can see on William Smith's 1815 geological map, are usually in locations we could not reach on a daytrip, and are spread around Britain. We usually stay in self-catering accommodation or a local modest inn or hotel on a half board basis.
